Yes just went round and unplugged everything. Is there any instructions for that Kernrate?

Found something a little easier to use (just a little easier) ... RATTV3 (http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/DevTools/tools/RATT.mspx). Download it, run it, then go to its install folder (Program Files\Microsoft\RATTV3) and run the file called CSWA.exe. That will generate a report which it stores in %WINDOWS folder%\system32\LogFiles\RATTV3. Unfortunately the log is written in DOS format so just copy the text, post it here (I'll convert it to a readable format and we'll see what's going on
Forgot to mention that the log file it generates is called yourcomputername.cswa-accumulator-report.txt
Oh and there will be a systray icon for rattv3, right click it and select exit, we don't need that running for now. But do ensure that you only run CSWA.exe when you have the high CPU usage.
Wont let me post it, says its too long so i uploaded it here

Ok, got it, yup its big! Can you just confirm that you tried unplugging everything from USB ports and still had the same problem? Just to save me some reading of this 400 odd line log
yes i tried unplugging everything from all the ports.
Okay, the first thing to slap me in the face was the huge amount of interrupt service routines running on your IEEE1394 port, so can you just go into BIOS and disable IEEE for the moment, boot up and let me know how that affects CPU usage.
ok
OH MY GOD, THANKYOU, jesus christ thankyou. its gone right down. to 3%. Oh thankyou. You really dont know how good this is. Ive had this problem for too long. Thankyou soo much.
Blimey, I was still going through the log, there were other possibilities, but that was the most worrying ...
1. Your audio driver is spending overly long periods with DPCs (the file ALCXWDM.SYS is part of your AC'97 audio driver). Disabling the audio device may work, otherwise it may need to be uninstalled.
2. portcls.sys is also spending overly long periods with DPCs, its a port/miniport driver.
3. USBPORT.SYS (obviously your USB port driver) and atapi.sys (a hard/cd/dvd drive controller) have the same issues. Do you have an external drive fitted to USB?
4. VIDEOPRT.SYS (your gfx card driver) is also showing long intervals with DPCs.
To find these I was looking for high DPC counts over 100microseonds durations (microsoft recommend nothing more than 100microseconds max), and in each case above there were loads (several hundreds).
All in all, these may indicate that you could have motherboard driver issues, so please go to the vendors web site and fully ensure that you have the latest drivers installed and the latest BIOS.
If the present result (a wonderful cure) you currently have persists, then there is defo an issue with IEEE 1394, its not the first time I;ve come across that, but it can also be indicative of mobo driver issues. If it does remain this way (lower CPU usage) then I am as well pleased for you as you are.
I'd be interested in you running the program again and seeing the newer results as it may have cured all
ok heres the new one

Actually, that is MUCH better.
Your AC'97 driver is still showing a few long DPC timer counts, but no where near as many. I've heard that this driver can be problematic. Everything else has settled nicely. I'd only recommend updating the audio driver, but there is no serious cause for concern.
As an aside to that, if you want to be able to use the IEEE1394 port at some future point, you could try re-enabling it in BIOS but disabling it in Device Manager. Obviously if that results in the high CPU usage again, its not a good idea.
Otherwise, its safe to sign your computer off sick and send it back to work
