Re: Features - Win one of four mid-range Sapphire Radeon HD graphics cards

I would like to win one of these uber bad boys because my current computer is getting on a bit, due to being unemployed i have a distinct lack of money. My current radeon 4870 (a sapphire one btw and very quiet and cool - maybe a comparison benchmark, who knows ) is eating up the electricity, so a new fangled lower power sapphire one (so i dont have to change the sapphire sticker on the case ) would help with my electricity bill.

the main reason though why i would like one, is so when i go to a Lan again next year, then i can say "suck it and eat my FPS" to the rest of the hexus.lan team.

Why should I win this competition? Simple.

Look around. Look at the other people entering. Now look at me. Look at them again. Now back to me.

    I'm on a horse.

I'd like to swap my passive HD4850 (yes really) for something that doesn't heat up the rest of my case like some kind of crazy space heater, causing the case fans to become louder than if I'd just had the fans on the graphics card!

Oh, and I'd write a good review!

These are great cards for gaming HTPC and on my list to replace my good old passive MSI 8600GT.

Re: Features - Win one of four mid-range Sapphire Radeon HD graphics cards

I would really like to win the HD7770 Vapor-X so I can retire my ageing 8800GTS 512Mb in my parents machine.

It would reduce the machines power consumption considering its primary use is for my parents to log into their work machines and it would allow my father to play some DX11 simulator games he's been talking about for a while now.

I would also like to write a review of the product.

I would love to have one of these cards to play some some WOW, and SCII. I'm not a hardcore gamer, but enjoy zoning out once in a while. Not to mention that I really like the compute power over NVidia cards. I'm a hobby Blender user and in the top 5% of Folding@home contributions. It would be a huge upgrade from my GTS 250 and my Radeon 5650. A new card would be awesome.

Re: Features - Win one of four mid-range Sapphire Radeon HD graphics cards

When I get up in the morning, I eat cornflakes, equip slippers and turn on my PC. It immediately screams OH GOD WHY as the hair-dryer 4870, complete with badly replaced fan from an old 8800 ultra grinds into life. As the tears begin to leak from the front intake, I sit down for a day's work. 3DSMax appears, shortly followed by another round of agonised shouting from PCIEX16_1.

After a while, I go for a cup of tea. Or I would, but in its vengeful wrath, the card has melted my slippers to the floor, in the process heat stripping most of the wall behind the PC and setting fire to the carpet. Handily though, it's around this point the glue holding on the bodged fan starts to melt, resulting in a horrifying grinding noise as it tries to eat an aluminium heatsink.

I pull myself out of my once-slippers, power down the PC and fire up 3D Pinball on my terrible old laptop, all the while dreaming of a cool, fast, quiet PC. A PC that won't hate me.

I think one of these cards would seriously help me with my first build that I'm planning to do in the near future. Planning on an i5 3570k, ASRock z77 extreme4, 8GB of Corsair Vengeance 1600, Wd Caviar Black 1TB, and reusing my PSU and graphics card.

I'd love a new amd 7k card as my old card has sadly died in my old machine. Thankfully it has onboard 3000 series graphics but its sadly outdated in todays gaming enviroment. Please save me from the Nvidia green machine of hell.

I'd love to win one of these, I was secretly building a rig for my brother to have before he went off to university but my spare mid range gpu died on me recently which is a pain as it means he's got nothing but a gamecube to game on, which are still awesome but not quite DX11 awesome. Would really really appreciate one of these cards and so would my brother even more than me. I'd love to be able to surprise him with it, would at least take his mind off the loss of his pet cat.

Re: Features - Win one of four mid-range Sapphire Radeon HD graphics cards

I've sold the first multi-core ATI card years ago and have used Nvidia ever since. My replacement laptop came with a Radeon that only has 480 cores. The Radeon 7750's have 512 cores. I'm getting great performance off it. I noticed AMD cut prices of the Radeon cards and I'm building new mods and I'm debating which cards to get. I want cards that have lower power consumption, because decent 1000+ watt power supplies aren't cheap. I also want less fan noise. I'm looking forward to see for myself the difference in performance.
