Q3 09!
I like how linear and logical Intels naming system is if only Nvidia could follow a similar trend instead fo sticking things here and there all the time.
Look forward to the lynnfield parts... that is if i can hold out without just buying bloomfield. The only gripe i have is... will triple channel memory bring us anything? Dual channel didnt really bring massive gains as far as i know so...
No-one knows how Nehalem responds to bandwidth yet, so tricky to say. However there might be a number of other differences between bloomfield and the rest, like ability to adjust CPU clock and possibly hyper-threading.
Then again lynnfield parts might have a PCI-E interconnect built in, enabling very fast connection to graphics card.

Long time before most of us will be upgrading to nehalem then.
Slightly annoying, makes me want to buy a Q9450 part now.
No way I am jumping early, I remember the compatibility issues with the early i975 boards and the Core2Duo line.

I've been condisering a system rebuild for about a month and had pretty much decided on an e8500 and then this announcement comes along... Quite tempted to wait. But not that tempted since I'm pretty budget constrained and quite eager to move on from my Pentium D 805!
yeah wait then you will be able to build one sik pc....mite be able to make tea while u use it aswell
Hope so, but there was some murmoring that low end versions might have it disabled.
Price, especially in the chipset department. Lynnefield will have a cheaper chipset and dual channel will mean motherboards are much cheaper, as well as cheaper to populate with RAM.
Wait and see. Good thigns come to those who wait, so they say.
