Am I blind or can I not see a limit to how many per person mentionned anywhere?

Glad somone else noticed that - I thought microsoft had been very sneaky there... "Ah, you might be a UK student, but where's your .edu email?!?"

Have to get the missus to order up a copy

If you got your pre order cheap, you could sell it for a small profit and get this instead?

Where's it say it's an upgrade? Can't find it in the article or on their web page. Also, any limits on how many per student?

    Hooray

Snow Leopard and 7 for the same price!

Ignore the part about .EDU, it clearly gives leeds.ac.uk as an example so we're fine.

Why on earth would you get Home Premium when Pro contains more for the same price

As it starts in October I'm going to see what my uni has on the MSDNAA and probably get it for free on that if possible and keep one retail one that I preordered over an upgrade for the convenience of a reinstall on my main pc.

Aggh. Why are U.K. users getting all the breaks on this OS?

First it's the cheaper full/upgrades, now offers like this!

I'm out in the cold here in the States, I'd buy it if I just had a decent discount deal!

Because in the UK we get shafted on EVERY SINGLE HARDWARE PURCHASE. It's nice to have the one up.

In 6th form you're still technically a 'pupil'. When you hit university, you become a 'student'. This offer is for students only - so sorry, you miss out.

This sounds like a great deal; a shame I'm not a student though Although tbh, back when I was, I got a free copy of XP anyway - just had to get hold of the CD image from college and apply the cd-key I was given. I never ended up using it though, so not sure if the key would ever work

On the Hexus site it says "This offer is ideal for students who are not planning to buy a new PC but want to experience Windows 7 on their existing Windows XP or Windows Vista PC."

    Source: Hexus Site

As well as on the Microsoft site "a PC that is currently running a genuine copy of Windows Vista or Windows XP and can run Windows 7."

    Source: Microsoft Site

Those two parts lead me to believe that it is only an upgrade, great for those who are not planning to build a new PC.
