I think you'll find that argument cuts both ways... Are Eidos committed to provide their customers with the best possible gaming experience? Remember who is actually developing and marketing the game.
It's all kind of mute anyway. I've had another look back at the news item and the posts from Richard Huddy. The dig at nVidia was really a back door tactic to simply promote that AMD have DX11 ready hardware in the market place and nVidia don't.
Being late to the market is not equal to not caring. (Perhaps if nVidia weren't fixing Epic Games' code then they'd be ready... )
Well done to AMD; and I'm sure nVidia will be into the DX11 market soon. Nobody is abandoning anyone.
Warmth and fuzziness is restored.
Seems not every nVidia employee or PR/marketing subcontractor identifies themselves when posting...
The amount of new posters, well, posting here is quite amazing!! Perhaps this is a good way for Hexus to get even more members!!
Yeah, say something controversial about a company, message the marketing dept and wait for the (anonymous) ants to rally at the hill attempting to defuse the situation
IIRC,in the demo of the Batman game you could have AA using ATI cards so it seems really fishy that in the full game this option suddenly dissapears. This reminds of the DX10.1 support in Assassin's Creed which was removed too. I wonder if it will re-appear now that Nvidia has DX10.1 parts out!!

Interesting view.
Personally i'd really like NVIDIA / Eidos to explain the Batman issue clearly and publicly (hence a rare post from me). Obviously the TWIMTBP program throws lots of money in the direction of developers, but on what conditions, locking out ATI cards?
If it's a case of the code being used is based on DirectX API's then it shouldn't be tied to purely one hardware manufacturer.
I applaud Richard for being so public on the matter.
Funny to see Rollo is still out spreading his anti-ATi FUD on other forums. I remember back in the day when he was exposed as an nVidia employee on anandtech, I don't think anyone takes him seriously over there, so he's moved on to greener pastures to drum up more support for them.
Anyways, this whole AA thing doesn't surprise me in the least. Remember the whole 3dmark fiasco? They've never really cared all that much about quality for gamers, only how it affects their bottom line. The fact that they pay people like Rollo to troll the internet sums that up pretty nicely.
Honestly, Rollo is fine in comparison to SiliconDoc.
I personally like to hear both sides of the story and this thread has certainly raised a number of interesting points from both sides. Having said that, I think I'm siding with ATI slightly on this one as I think nVidia has acted anti-competitively (IMHO of course).
All we need now is for VIA to enter the fray....!
I think Rollo's points have been valid and I don't find any problems with him expressing his opinions, but at the moment we need more evidence before this debate can go any further.
Agreed in part... we do need evidence for any further progression but Rollos points have been pretty blindly biased. The number of people i have seen explain the principle of direct x only for it to be repeatedly ignored and the same replies given over and over.
Thing is i dont think a lot of the people on ATIs side are actually ATI fanboys, most of us are just neutral. I dnt understand how people blindly back NVidia, refuse to accept the quality of competitors products are and completely ignore anything negative said towards NVidia.
Its difficult to take anyone like that seriously and im pretty sure a lot of people are having quite a laugh sneering at them.
