Here is another article on the E3 preview......

"One of the biggest differences is the intricately detailed full interiors of premium cars that go beyond the steering wheel and dashboard of standards."
I still think the biggest reason for this probably being a translation issue is simply that it makes absolutely no sense for them to not have interiors in every car. Looks like we will have to wait till gamescon for the end word on this.
This site contacted SCEA for an answer.
http://igamereport.com/2010/06/23/of...nterior-views/
And this was the response from SCEA
“Standard cars do indeed have a cockpit/dashboard view, just not nearly as detailed as the premium cars. The existing cars are not just being copied; they are all being generated properly to create authentic experiences from car to car.”
Well, sorry to revisit an old thread, but the topic of conversation mostly had here has new information come to light yet again.
From hereand that despite their best efforts to respond to criticism about standard car interiors, they were not able to implement cockpit camera (even one similar to GTPSP’s) in GT5 – a source of some disappointment to Kazunori, who is never happy to let down his fans and is probably his own biggest critic.

I don't know what to believe anymore. That's rather poor though tbh.
It's gonna be a good game that i'm still gonna buy. But it's gonna have to be premium cars only
