Nope, just upgraded from an i7-860 to a 5820K, so it'll probably be somewhere around 2020 before I upgrade the CPU again, barring some astonishing advance nobody saw coming. Other than bigger SSDs and more drive space (because I always need more HD space) over the next few years, my next upgrade will probably be whatever Nvidia have coming after Pascal, or AMD if they're still around and actually competitive at the top end.

Re: QOTW: Are you planning on upgrading to Intel Skylake?

Gone are the days Intel used to show us great performance gains (same applies to GPU's nowadays too!)
    I'll be rocking my 4960X (@4.7jiggawatts) for a while I'm guessing.

These measly 5% performance gains at best (sacrificing overclocking abilities as a result of the die shrinks etc) are pathetic tbh.

Glad to see people are wising up - Core i5's and above are usually more than good enough these days for the average user. Better gains are had elsewhere.

Not unless Intel offer an 8 core chip that can be pushed close to 5Ghz plus CPU, motherboard and a pair of 8GB DIMMs for under £500.
