I do a few tests with a new CPU but leave it at stock speeds afterwards until I need more power a few years down the line.. my 4790k is still at stock speed since the month it was released (2-3 years if memory serves correctly)

Have overclocked in the past. Extensively. Athlon 700 running at 1ghz. Celeron 300a running at 600. Making ram heatsinks from old cpu coolers before anywhere sold them. Added custom cooling to a Geforce 2 GTS.
Today, not at all. The effort/cost to make a marginal real-world difference is not worth it. 86fps instead of 80fps doesn`t seem worth it.

Yes sir its overclocked from 3.2 to 4.3ghz
Incidentally yes the wife's computer (my old bits) is also over clocked from 2.6 to 3ghz
I tried overclocking my GTX 1070, but i could only crank out a extra 100mhz that just wasn't worth the higher temps and power consumption. So i just leave it at stock. I do have it's voltage increased so it won't drop its boost speed so low though.
Not overclocked since the Core 2 chips.
I still have a Q6600 clocked to 1333mhz FSB (3ghz from 2.4ghz). I've got 2 OC profiles, in the BIOS, so now and then I'll switch to 1604mhz FSB (3.6ghz) when I need to ramp up the power.
My i5 isn't a K chip. Even I did get a K CPU when I next upgrade, I probably wouldn't bother with clocking it.
6500T 2.5Ghz clocked to 4.2. Yeah my PC is overclocked, thanks to Intel screwing up.
NO. Main PC has an Intel Core i5-3350P 3.1GHz. No "K" in that nomenclature so I knew I wasn't going to be overclocking.
I had a G0 Q6600 and tested it out once or twice to see how difficult it was but never really got into it.
Yes mine is...running a 6600k at 4.2
I can't help it, if I get a new CPU or GPU the first thing I do is see how far i can get it, of course I go for stable 24/7 clocks.
Currently have my 3570k at 4.5ghz, I will say its not a good clocker so voltages are at there limits.
I proudest overclock is my old core2 e4300, went from 1.8ghz to 3.24ghz.
I generally don't bother too much with ram, I usually tune timing rather than try to make it go faster.
No, I'm happy enough with the stock clock, and it will turbo to that bit extra if it needs it anyway on its own.
4770k at 4.3 ... don't really notice any day to day difference from stock speed though. RAM runs on it's middle XMP profile for 2133Mhz.
Not sure. I put the speed up to make my RAM run faster, and the bios said my CPU was at 4.something... But when i go to settings/about it says 3.5ghz
My CPU (i7 875K) is stock-clocked, but undervolted! I did try overclocking a few years back, and it seemed ok running at 3.46Ghz Turbo (3.2Ghz default) up from 3.2Ghz Turbo (2.93Ghz default) with no real voltage increase, but I did notice the power consumption reported by hardware monitor went up alot. I then noticed that some motherboard settings were increasing the voltage during higher load to make up for the 'droop' effect. I read into it more, and to cut a long story short, I realised that while my CPU would probably overclock quite nicely, I should have bought a better quality motherboard with better power phasing, else I risked killing the motherboard too early. In the end, I tried a couple of games at the same OC, and they didn't really seem any better (Total War) so I decided instead to prolong the life of my components by trying an undervolt instead, and it seems to do alright. On high load, the voltage drops to around 1.09v but running prime95 everything was fine, so I left it at that, not daring to go any lower.
Slightly off-topic, just wondering how much impact does CPU overclocking actually have on gaming performance? I mean, I have an i5-6600 with a cooler master hyper 212 evo and a gtx 1060 and I've never even tried to OC my CPU.
