Lenovo just leaked the RTX3070TI 16GB. I would say unless you really need an upgrade,to hold onto your money. AMD has to launch their GPUs,and if they are any good Nvidia will probably respond, then AMD will respond and so on.
Not desperate. 3070 wouldn't be an upgrade anyway. My next upgrade will be to get 4k120. Not for £1.5k though (3090), nvidia is not getting my money for sure just out of principle. 1080ti is good enough for 2k120

What most people don't realise is how good nvidia got in recent years in milking their customers. Flooding the market with lots of variants of their cards to create artificial "competition" and just muddy the (high) pricing waters.

"Only" 8GB on the 3070 is the big let down.

Not sure why this thread has moved to talking about the socioeconomic situation in the United States, but FWIW, generally they have a far lower cost-of-living than the UK until somebody gets ill, and then they're right royally stuffed. If they joined the rest of the world with universal health-care then that would be a massive boost for their society. And it's also worth stressing whilst on average there is a low cost of living, they also have a horrific poverty problem and massive inequality (that being the American dream AFAIK).

Still think that's a feck up of huge proportions from Lenovo

Because my point is that they regard this as a cheap upgrade - we however don't. We are a UK mainly website and I don't think it's really aimed as such at the UK

Let's kill that offspring before it gets worse and we move onto how much better we are going to be after we get brexit "done" :-)) The bottom line is that the US isn't ready for Bernie... yet :-)

I do as I look at how their margins have gone up. They quietly hiked up prices generation after generation after Maxwell, which coincided with some of their best years.

It is not that much, considering AMD could put 8GB of GDDR5 on a GPU in 2016. GDDR6 prices have probably dropped much lower than the 5700XT came out last year.

It tells me its worth waiting. The RTX3070 uses a cutdown GA104 I suspect.

Again the Yanks are telling me that this time round NV won't be having the Super, Ti's and so forth until at least refresh time, which will be around a year from now....
They are also saying how they believe that Samsung have basically cut NV a huge deal but yields are sooooooo bad that the 3090 will not be available until at least Q1 2021 and then in really poor amounts anyway. Lenovo has always been terrible at getting the actual specs right since forever

We already saw a RTX3070TI,and there is a massive gap between the RX3080 and RTX3090. OFC,there will be a refresh at some point!!

Why couldn't they leak the 3080 'ti' with 20gb
I'm much more interested in that rumour and how much that might come in at

Re: Nvidia reveals the GeForce RTX 3070, 3080, 3090 graphics cards

Just had a quick look at Ebay UK, quite a few new listings of 2080 Ti cards starting around the £400 mark(!). I can see the RTX 3070 flying off the shelves in Q4.

The lead programmer an id Software had some interesting things to say about VRAM:
    https://www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/posts/33893449/

Basically 8GB is the bare minimum for the next generation!!

Not many I think, I have 1080ti and not rushing to eBay anytime soon. Not until I see x2 fps (4k120) for under £1k in real world gaming. Simple as that really. 2080/1080ti is perfect for 1440p 120hz+. 2080ti is in nowhere land not good enough for 4k high refresh. So I think if you upgrade your 20xx card you want either 2k160 or 4k120...for a reasonable under £1k. Btw, I got 1080ti new for under £800 to put things into perspective. NV now wants almost double for its 30xx equivalent. Good luck to them

Yeah, saw a few, no bids on them. The 11GB on the 2080ti is arguably more useful than better RTX performance. Benchmarks will make or break the second hand values. Still, I'd go with a 2080ti for £300 over a 3070 for £470.

The fact is the RTX3070 could have more VRAM. The RX5700XT had 8GB last year when GDDR6 was more expensive.
