The best online squad shooter just got updated!

Yep, EZ have sent in a copy of Battlefield 2: Special Forces, so now I can play as the SAS and run around thanking people in clipped, upper crust tones....

Hehe, you gotta love those crazy Americans and their misconceived ideas about us Brits... (still, at least WE all know where France is, right? )

Oh look, an expansion pack from EA when the original still has bugs? Who'd have guessed it!

Just installed it an played for the first time and I'm far from impressed , it brings nothing new to bf2. The new guns were nice but they could have included them in the next patch and not charged 15quid for it.

Add to the that the new night maps are horrific as are some of the additions and I don't think it will make that much of a hit on the servers (there are very few as it is)

Changing the path in the shortcut so fullscreen is 0 then it will give you an error message which often helps diagnose the issue

Its usually something graphics related thought I've seen problems because of odd monitors beleive it or not

Cheers - I'll test this later. It might be it doesn't like SLI running on a CRT @ 1600 x 1200

/I'd put a tenner on that

I would look for an updated set of drivers then as that may fix the problem (I run at 1600x1200 on my x800 xt )

Strange becuase I'm NOT having any problems with it other than it not being able to find a 'Play NOw' server... ever.

This is on an unpatched install of BF2 and the Spec Ops expansion slapped over the top.

I've not had any crashes or anything unusual happen so far, though I've only played for about an hour or so, so far.

Did you install the patch for standard bf2 1.12 I think it is as I had to do that twice once before installing sf as I was waiting for my copy and once afterwards as otherwise I couldnt run sf

EA seem to get worse every time I blink

No bud, I just installed my retail copy of BF2 then slapped BF2: SO straight in on top. I didn't even run BF2 as thios was a fresh install on the HEXUS.gaming rig.

It keeps pinging up a message about patching, which I've downloaded but not installed yet.

I'll have a crack at that and then see what happens.

I would've thought that the expansion pack would've included any patches, to be honest... having to download a 189Mb patch straight after installing it is bit... odd...
