    No more Intel Inside

    No, Intel hasn't shut up shop, but it is killing off one of its best known logos. The 'Intel Inside' logo has been with us for nearly 16 years now, but it seems Intel has decided it's time to let it go. Of course, there's a new logo on the way.
    The new identity is expected to be unveiled in the first week of January, most likely with a new advertising campaign. The change will be announced worldwide simultaneously. A section of Intel’s top brass is expected in Singapore after January 3 to oversee the changes in the Asia-Pacific region, including India.
    [The Economic Times]

    We've seen a lot of change happening at Intel recently. Staff shuffling, a change of strategy - from clocks to cores - and already details on new branding surfacing (VIIV, anyone? Keep an eye out for the new logo popping up somewhere soon.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    May it rest in peace lol. Given the current portfolio of Intel (minus Pentium M) it's not really "intel" inside anymore lol.

    I won't miss it tbh, with all those "Idiot Outside" badges on Ebay and in cheap computer shops, and that evil jingle.

    It's the best Christmas present of all (!)

    I hope they don't come up with something more annoying for the next 16 years!

    I also hate the way in the adverts they have to say the whole name every time, they can never just say 'Intel', 'Pentium' or 'Centrino'.

    Salesperson: "This laptop contains Intel Centrino Mobile Technology"
    Customer: "Intel Centrino Mobile Technology?"
    Salesperson: "Yes, Intel Centrino Mobile Tecnology."

    Salesperson: "We also have this HP desktop with an Intel Pentium 4 Processor..."

    do-de-do-doooo

    And so it goes on!

    I never really liked the 'Intel Inside' logo, but you've got to admit, it's one hell of an enduring, successful piece of advertising. Unfortunately, it seems the main Intel logo will be changed too.

    Does that mean that when a company mentions Intel CPU's in adverts on the TV now they wont show that crappy logo and play the annoying tune too?

    Good ridance too that jingle methinks. OT but it just reminded of the currys or dixons advert for the computer where the guy says"Intel Pentium 4 with HT technology" do do do do.. "sorry" "Intel Pentium Pentium 4 with Hyper-Threading technology" Like it now makes more sense to the idiot for buying the computer .
