Sort of a cross between virtualpc and bootcamp. Anyone care to test this one?
Mike - great link, thanks very much!

I'm in the process of tying up with Apple the loan of a Mac mini, so I'll see if we can't checkout Parallels' Workstation 2.1 Beta for Mac OS X while we're doing our other tests.

And, on that subject, we really would welcome input on what things we should test and why.

It could be argued that each of the current Mac Intel solutions is in its own way unique but we'd like to put the Mac mini into some kind of sensible context and would appreciate people's thoughts on what that context is and, thus, what testing would best establish that.

So your ideas really would be massively helpful (hopefully!).

    Gordy,

    Great stuff!

And, please, do comment to my last posting with your ideas about how we test the Mac mini.

Well for the Mac mini I think streaming content would be one thing that a lot of people would be interested in. DVD/HD playback will be an essential ask for the mini as would media encoding/playback.

    Hi all

I've run both 3d mark 06 and battlefield 2 now. Both run perfectly.

    3dmark 06

I had to run at the default res of 1280x768 as I don't have the pro version to test it on.
The macbook pro scored 1535 3d marks , the cpu score was 1658

Please note: I have the 2.0ghz dual core mbp with 2gb of DDR2 and a X1600 256mb gfx card.

Then I installed battlefield two which ran very well. The fans kick in with heavy 3d work which is good to hear.

I took some vids of it in action:

    (4.5mb)

looks like vmware to me - a proper hypervisor solution would present real hardware, not generic svga and emulated network cards
