Is it just me or have Play.com put up all the Wii game prices from £32.99 to £37.99?

Loving mine! Just need more games - cheap.

I think i might enjoy wii for a few hours, maybe days, about after that i will soon get bored with it, especially if no good games come out that effectively use the new controller.

Also you dont mention that it doesnt even play dvd movies. Sure it might not be the end of the world, but it would be really nice if i could get rid of the standalone dvd player and just have a wii in my living room. It would have cost like less than 1euro to nintendo to add dvd movie support, but they didnt.

Early rumours talked about 150-200euros but it ended up costing 250euros? I think nintendo saw how hyped wii became and raised the price. And wii games cost as much as xbox 360 games!!! This was supposed to be a cheap but fun console. And from that prespective, wii fails to deliver. If price drops and cool games come out for it, then i might buy it.
To be fair...you don't have to buy it

It's a bit like the PS3 and 360: if you don't like the marketing then don't buy it.

Nintendo have a right to place their product as they want in the marketplace and to be fair this is a whole load cheaper than both the other consoles out

It supports NTSC, 420p and 60Hz...

But if I want to ramp up to HD, I have a CRT monitor that goes to HD res with no problems and, superbly, has component input round the back, even though it's a year old.

But hopefully before Chrimbo I'll be properly HD in the lounge.

Oh, and Call Of Duty 3 on the PS3 is gooood!

Ah, nintendo is changing. Older Gamers think they're too childish before, Now they're making something suits everyone.
If you are a member of gamespot, you should have watched the UK wii launch, there were about 500-600 people queing outside HMV, Oxford street branch.
I think nintendo wii will make nintendo get back to the leader of the video game industry.

My brother brought his home on Friday, but decided he was going to wrap it up for christmas - so I didn't get a go.

However I did get a quick look at the Wiimote that came free with the copy of Wii Play I'd bought him for christmas. The cord on the strap did look flimsy (it looks like the type of strap that usually comes with a camera), but as long as the player doesn't whirl it through the air by the strap it should be okay.

All in all, Roll on Christmas
