Sure even they couldnt be stupid enough to think it was a game in those kind of circumstances . I mean they had to stop cooking last night because they couldnt produce anything worthwhile surely they realise that customers are annoyed.

And another thing is Ramsay actually feeding that food to paying customers in his own restaurant? I know hes famous but if I went to a reastaurant of that (supposedly) high standard I would be majorly pissed off if they served me some of the crap they were producing, television or not .

I was wondering that too. They CAN'T be normal customers... but then, he must be losing out on business if his usual restaurant isn't open... or is his usual restaurant else where, or a separate part of the same restaurant? And if it's NOT,.. then where are all his chefs? (Taking a well earned break probably!) Too many questions to possibly enjoy watching it!!!!

I've had a lot of sobering thoughts in my time.... It was them that started me drinking.

The TV channel is paying for the lack of business

    Hope he sinks afterwards....

I think he has about 8 or so restaurants, although I can only name 2 off the top of my head, Savoy Grill and Claridges. So he would have a fair amout of staff. The woman who is helping him in the TV show is the head chef from Claridges I belive, so I don't know who would be running that at the moment.

Well thing is that he is not actually serving crap to customers which is why he closed the doors rather than do this, he is not letting the standard slip which will be the undoing of this restaurant. He really looked down last night, crawled into a corner at the end looked like he was beat.

I so much agree with you, it's so disgusting that I don't wanna know what they're doing with the poor food! : Well, like you said you're soon out of there..I'm going to be there for 2 more years..and I think the will only get worse! It won't get better even though I hope it will..but on friday you will get a bit better lunch though, I hope. I'm gonna serve you all..all the graduators..I want to graduate too! I'm longing for that day when the first graders are gonna serve on my lunch at my graduation! I'm happy for you though, even if I'm bad to show you that..

I hope you'll afford to get some good lunch at KTH though, will your parents help you pay for that?

I would like to know what deal Ramsay has with the punters. Do they pay for their food? Is it full price? I dont think they pay for it as they would have been empty after the first night, think it has to be a freebie deal where they are told, if you get no food then that is part of the deal.
No way that celebs are turning up simply to be guests.

LOL!!! I actually find Hell's Kitchen very entertaining.

The celebs on it are a total disgrace, their jobs are so easy, but they can't cope. It's not hard at all, they cook one or two different types of dishes each over and over again and thats it. The most difficult part is actually having discipline:

    - that the food should be cooked at the right time to co-ordinate with other dishes
    - that it should taste right
    - that its properly cooked and right temp
    - that its presented well

..and if you cannot do that, even I'm not surprised Gordon Ramsey flips his lid all the time.

Some of my friends who watched it thought that throwing all that food away was such a waste and must not be profitable. But its a top class restaurant where everything should be spot on, clientale pay for this, not sub standard food (and novices cooking it does not make it sub standard at all), so presenting them with anything else would only make them feel less likely to come back, which in the long term would be even less profitable than throwing away the food.

I'd just wish I can have Gordon Ramsey as my head chef and whip my kitchen staff into order.
