    Angry Ram problem

    Well my ocz ram was faulty and so I sent it back from RMA, very quick service they sent from taiwan it arrived in 5 days, i received it yesterday however it is still not working I tried each module in all slots and pressed memok every time still no hope, and my screen isnt turning on is that normal because i was recommended on ocz forums to go to bios and.. :
    Hello and Welcome to the OCZ Forums .

    Set AI Overclock Tuner to { Manual }
    Set DRAM Frequency to { 1600 Mhz }
    Set DRAM Timings to 8-8-8-24 (CL-TRCD-TRP-TRAS)
    Set DRAM Command Rate to { 2T }

    Set CPU & NB Voltage Mode to { Offset }
    Set CPU/NB Offset Voltage from { +0.1 to +0.25 volts } [ the lowest stable setting is best ]
    Set DRAM Voltage to { 1.7 volts } [ the voltage on the label of your DIMM modules ]
    Set CPU and PCIE Spread Spectrum to { Disabled }

    Test with Memtest86+ v4.1 ( www.memtest.org ) . Run it with individual modules like you did before if necessary to isolate a bad module.

    Report back your findings .

    my monitor is samsung p2250 if that is any help.

    hmm sorry i didnt make myself clear enough well the led near the memok button is glowing red which means there is a problem and when i press the memok button it starts to flash which means it is trying out different settings it gets faster and faster and then goes solid red again which means it failed, and yes there are beeps but the guy on ocz said try the above settings but how am i supposed to do that when my screen isnt receiving a signal so i cant see bios, its not a screen problem as i tried it with my lapto

    Re: Ram problem

    What's the key to press to go into BIOS setup? You should be able to enter it even with faulty RAM, and it should still display to the monitor with faulty RAM, though I guess it might depend on the motherboard/BIOS.

    Try resetting CMOS?

    Re: Ram problem

    What he's on about here, incase people haven't realised is the Asus "MemOk" feature.
    A hardware button on the motherboard that's suposed to test the memory.

    Sorry I cannot help really with the problem as I've no experience with this Asus feature.

    I would say plug a case speaker/buzzer into the motherbaord then try to boot up, reset the BIOS, don't use the memOK and see what error code of bleeps you get.

    Re: Ram problem

    did that i was getting one long beep and two short ones continuously checked manual means no ram is detected, could my memory slots be faulty or is it the ram, I don't have any other ram to test it with, but I think it is the ram because it was working when i used it with one 2gb for a while before i sent it to rma, I think ill try and convince OCZ to send me a ssd which I might sell or keep and get corsair ram
