    first question 32 or 64 bit, 32 only sees up to 3-4GB, and are you using onboard graphics,?? if yes then the BIOS is reserving the other 2GB for the GPU sometimes even when not in use, so just go into BIOS and disable onboard GPU if you don't use it...
