Angry WHAT can i Do, "Nildram" Ripping me off!

I switched from Nildram to Aquiss back in Jan and had noticed that the Muppet's (Nildram) Have kept on charging me even though Nildram gave me a MAC and can see my monthly usage is 0 MB!

I have called them twice and each time they have said i will be refunded for the 3 months and that the request will be sent to there finance department.

And guess what Sweet FA and they charged us again for a months subscription... !!!!

Need to check my balance with the bank, but last time i checked they did not refund me.

    What can i do next?

If you are paying by direct debit, approach your bank and claim a refund for those months under the direct debit guarantee.

Bad luck, but as Peter says you can go through the bank claim the money back and cancel the direct debit, though approach the bank first in person (or phone) explain what has happened and how you have contacted Nildram on various occassions.

Tho give Nildram one last chance, phone them up and just say that you will go through the bank to force the money back as you have waited x weeks/months and nothing has happened and they are still taking your money!

Out of interest how are Aquiss (Enta) was interested to swap over to them as they were one of the cheapest enta resellers...

    Cheers

Yea they are sound, So far so good, had a few problems when i started with them, and was a bit of a pain in the back side setting up simple things up like my extra e-mail address and web space, but the speed and reliability is much better than what i got with Nildram.

tell them to wipe you Credit card details or you'll report them for breaches of the Data protection act.

What they are doing after you leaving them is VERY bad, and if you threated action i'm fairly sure they would sort it very fast.

It would be even worse for them if the PC DSS regulations for the storage of credit card details had come in, but thats not till later in the year.

you can't pay by debit card unless you physically phone them up and pay surely?

If they take it every month then that is surely a direct debit?!?

Nope, there is something called "Credit Card - Continuous Payment" which takes a repeated amount from cards.

Means card holder not present transactions can be taken without your express consent every month, but you have to sign off on a contract that you give up this right.

Its also one of the most dubious bits of Card law in my opinion, as you get things like this occuring.

    thats shocking....shouldn't be possible.

mind you, even then, if you haven't signed something then dispute it with your bank.

if anything it gives business the excuse not to ahere to the DD code.

    Stupidty from the regulators AGAIN.

Credit Card continuous authority pretty bad IMHO - you have almost no protection as the control of the payment process is in the hands of the payee. If they don't/won't/can't stop the payments, either throgh negligence or fraudulent activity, apart from legal recourse, the only way to stop it it is to cancel the card!
