I download a fair bit. Mainly from 100mbit ftp servers in sweden, norway, netherlands. So i should get my 20mbit speed which I pay for. Has anyone contacted them about this yet ? Surely there has to be a way around it..?

100mbps isn't much for an internet server, with 5 people thinking like you the entire link is completely saturated, in reality ftp servers handle 20-50 or more connections concurrently. There is no way around it, unless you want to pay the hosting server for a direct leased line just for you.
