At the prices Zen are charging for Internet access? Probably not.

Re: Switch ISP! HEXUS teams up with Zen

My parents have been with Pipex then F2S for ages, and the line performance has been slowly but surely going downhill - thought about going for Zen before but it was quite pricey...

Zen 8000 Active seems ok though. 'Rents never use over 20Gb so I guess we should switch!

Any chance for a discount for Hexus users?

DR do you get your connection for free or claim for it on your expenses?

If so I would love it as well!

a contribution is made to it by work - however, I would pay for it myself quite happily - i need to have a stable, reliable internet connection since I spend most of my time working from home...

Why not just switch to O2/Be - if they are on your parents exchange? I was with Pipex (who have gone real bad since the Tiscali takeover) and switched to O2. Customer service is every bit as good as Zen (check Thinkbroadband feedback), and an *unlimited* 8Mb line is only £12.50. Seems a pretty good deal to me compared to a *limited* 8Mb line from Zen at nearly three times the price!

Add a static Ip address to O2 - an additional £5/month - they don't quote for more than one (Zen will provide 8). Of course if you don't need a static IP address(es), then there isn't much point in paying for one - but you aren'r comparing like with like.

free static ip with be unlimited. also you can get fastpath to reduce those pings all for £18 up to 24mb. Most likely cheaper and faster than zens pricing. Free support line too. No they arent incompetent agents and it's 24/7. Problem at 3am in the morning? Want to switch your service? Phone them up and it's done! And I have been on the value package from the start and my ip hasn't changed. So from september till now I've had the same ip address. Not really dynamic and if you needed a static ip just register with dyndns.org. Zen is probably for those like you, who may need 8 static ip's and all that customer support. But it isn't justified enough for the average joe users and me to spend more for less y'know. I've had no faults neither. Virgin was a bad one and with their 50p/min support line (probably more now) I can understand why you'd want Zen.

Be is just 2nd and for the price it makes it most users best choice

I'm guessing that the only people with Zen and their great proponents can't actually get Be, if they could they would jump ship in an instant.

Re: Switch ISP! HEXUS teams up with Zen

I think the chances of ANY LLU at my 600 connected line exchange anytime soon are pretty slim! So for now I'll be staying with Zen!

Re: Switch ISP! HEXUS teams up with Zen

I have been with the majority of Broadband suppliers at one stage or other during the past 8-9 years.

Currently with Be* and the price and service has been superb - I have also been with Zen in the past and would say that although the support staff at Zen are excellent, the Be* staff are also just as good and the support line is open 24/7

Dont get me wrong Zen are a very good ISP and I would recomend them if you cant get Be* where you currently are, however if you can get Be* on the exchange then for value for money and also "service" I would highly recommend them
