    Re: tiscali

im on tiscali max unlimited and it sucked hard with me getting a slow connection all the time and it really annoyed me too. after bieng with them for so long and just getting nowhere with their tech support on the phone and their email systems, i decided to head over to thier forum for help.

i still got nowhere. their excuse was because we are on an IPstream platform and are currently migrating customers over to less busy platforms.

but after reading through other peoples posts i found a solution. if your on an ip address that begun with a number in the 80's (eg 88.?.?.?) it would be awfully slow more so at peak times. If you have an ip adress that begins with a number in the 70's (79.?.?.?) it would be quite speedy all the time.

so what i did was sit there and connect and disconnect my router until it gave me an ip adress beginning in the 70', its been on a week now and been fine with fast download rate.

they have been appaling and i too are considering changing providers. i hope this post helps you.

    stude.

    Re: tiscali

Yep, in this case MAC stands for Migration Access (Authority?) Code.

You have to call up your current ISP (Tiscalli), and request it from them - upon giving it to the ISP you want to move to, the process will begin and you should be migrated within ten or so days.
