Hum, I'll help you here. If you've already got an ADSL2+ ISP you can calculate what speeds you will get if you can find your attenuation. Or just use Samknows Broadband - Comprehensive Broadband Information and check the distance from your exchange. Calculate the distance as the Crow flies and by street. Me to my exchange as the crow flies is 600m but by street its 1.2km and my attenuation calculates my line to be 2km. I get around 16mb though which is nice.
The information for my postcode seems to be messed up on Sam Knows. It says Be only available in March 2009 when I have been on Be for about 9 months now, and it has already been available there for ages.
Dont know if any other post codes info is messed up.

yea I don't rely on the information about availability. best to check with the isp's. I think either the ISP's tell samknows which excahnges have their service or samknows goes and updates it themselves. But it should tell you which is your closest exchange. then from there you can estimate the speed you'll get.
some speedtests from me. with a 2km bt line.

I don't know if you play games alot but I know you're into CS right Jay? If so you'll get real low pings with Be* I'll tell you that.

You can look up possible speeds on this graph I made from stats posts on the Be forums: [link here]
Actual speeds can vary a lot for any attenuation. Just remember that ADSL2+ uses higher frequencies, so attenuation is slightly higher compared with regular ADSL, and the higher frequencies can cause other problems depending on the individual line and the surrounding area (i.e. nearby army barracks).

I'm probably going to drop my VM 20mb line and their TV / phone.
I normally get from 6 to 11mbps from it during peek time and about 18 to 19mbps during the night.
right now I get this
