    Sorry!

This where being a GP is handy. It is illegal for BT to cut off your home phone so if there is an issue with the line, just refuse to pay your bill till they sort it!

Managed to get an engineer out this morning, he's fiddled with the cabinet down the road, and all of a sudden we've get a connection at 3.5mbit..

Dunno how long it'll last though..

Loads of static on the line. I make a call to BT and they tell me nothing is wrong. Literally 30 minutes later the line is perfect.

This lasts a month or so before it starts getting worse again.

2009, if it carries on that long, will be the 3rd year of this crap.
At least they did something quickly. Tiscali took about 3 mounths to achnolage that there was a problem with our line (we were told it was perfict several times, while the internet barley worked had to wait for hexus, and the phone was inaduiable)

That is an utter disgrace. Hexus is an emergency service surely?

The fact they lied, then fixed "nothing" isn't much reassurance when you're paying them £xxx.xx a quarter for a service they can't provide.

Ok, so they acted quickly, but I'd rather have honesty.

    And, erm, internet barley?

    Re: I don't suppose...

3.5 mbit lasted a little under 12 hours, then died, now connected to the exchange at around 1.8 mbit, but still stuck with a 135kbit profile, and transfers <115kbit..

Apparently the profile is connected at 1500kbit one end, but stuck the other, called Zen, they told me to wait a couple of days and it should clear itself up...

That was 2 days ago.. I'm still stuck at 135kbit..

Not impressed with BT or Zen at the moment...

I've literally no other choice but to stick with BT for a line though - no cable/ decent LLU operator here
