    The Wii and the Mobile

I have a Nintendo Wii and a Nokia N95 8GB with an unlimited usage T-mobile Web 'n' Walk bundle.

I'm planning on getting BT Broadband in about two months time and as such, I was wondering if possible, how I could go about setting up my Wii to connect to the Internet via my mobile phone.

For reference, I also have a Belkin N Wireless Modem Router F5D8633-4 which came with the USB wf-fi adapter.

I'm not hopeful of this being possible but I'm asking just in case it is...

    Thanks for any help

I would have thought the same T&C that apply to this thread, would apply to your thread too.

Unless I've misunderstood the question :/

Re: The Wii and the Mobile

I don't have a Nokia 8GB Myself, however I've successfully done this with a HTC Wizard (or O2XDA Mini S) which runs windows mobile. I'm sure nokia have the same feature.

Look around on the web, or someone else will probably tell you what to do here Find out how to set up "Internet Connection Sharing" with your phone, it basically see's it as a dialup modem. There may be a application to do it over wifi too but you most likely need the cable.

Once that's done, plug in your wireless router, and connect via ethernet or wifi (whichever you have). Then share the connection between your "Modem" (aka phone) and the wired/wifi connection. The wireless network is then connected to the internet (on my netgear router a green (i) comes on the box.) If you have another wifi computer/laptop test that first because it can tell you if it has local, or local + Internet access, the latter is what you need. I did this with a windows mobile phone and manged to get on XBOX live, connect with my Wii, 2 laptops via wifi, and 2 computers via ethernet.

    In short:

    1. Share the nokias internet with the computer (usually sees it as a modem, depends on the OS)
    2. Connect the router up
    3. Connect the computer to the router (Via wifi or ethernet. Ethernet preferred)
    4. Set up internet connection sharing between your "modem" and ethernet/wifi. (There is a bridge option which i've never used, it could also work)
    5. Check to see if you can get on the internet with any wifi device.

Also, don't touch your phone during this, otherwise you could lose your internet

I plead for people to provide a step-by-step guide for this person, I'm running Windows7 Beta, linux + Don't have his phone or his router (Though I do have a wii).

EDIT: It took me a while to write this post, hence the delay, but yes. Unlimited web'n'walk isn't that. I'm on that plan with a phone and a mobile internet package. Recently, they've just started doing a virgin and throttling your bandwidth, so you'll start getting worse connection speeds, which are hardly broadband worthy anyway.

Re: The Wii and the Mobile

Got it working, thanks ash, for your contribution, you were close, I got another guide from another forum, the main thing to do is disable the DHCP client in the Router which is under the "LAN setings" in your router.
