Talking Help finding Net Filtering for a business network - Specific needs!

Hi all, I have been tasked with finding Net Filtering Software for a small network (8 machines + SBServer 2003) its a training suite so a lot of kids use it and we want the ability to block/unblock websites on individual client machines on the fly. The reason for this is when the kids have done their work we can then unblock Facebook/Bebo as a reward. I would prefer this to be done from one management console rather than having to go to each machine and block/unblock content. Are there any products out there that can do this?

for a very small network you could use an external filter such as webroot, if you are up for a little challenge I would use dansguardian or even maybe a decent router will the ability to block.

If its for training and kids it may be worth looking at a whitelist for sites rather than a blacklist.

The problem is that we don’t want them to be able to view certain sites until they have completed their work.

Smoothwall on an older machine in between the router and the switch/network.

It comes with DansGuardian and gives timed access, whitelists, etc etc.

    Excellent community behind it too.
