Getting a 2Mbit line from central point broadband. Apparently the guy on the phone told me I was the only guy with BB on my local exchange with a phat 155Mbit pipe or something. They just need to upgrade it.

    I'll be paying £35 a month

150kib/s down (soon to be upped to 300kib/s sometime this summer) 64kib/s up. it's fast enough and reasonably reliable, especially since it's an ntl: connection...

lol I'm in a similar situation myself I have the virtual path all to myself and regularly see download speeds of over 280 Kb/s and adslguide speedtest shows it as a 2.4 Mb line most of the time.

My exchanges (MRWAL) has apparently a load of 512 lines but hardly none of like 2 Mb. If you wanna check yours then check www.samknows.com as this can tell you all the VP info and stuff like that

1/2 Mb Nildram - though I'll probably change from them when I next room - after their appauling attitude to data security and bulk mailing
Now go away before I taunt you a second time.

wow, SALFORD!!! where abouts u from? wow strange another member living so close

Erm, my exhange is the same as yours...MRWAL, the guy at cpbb said virtually no one is using the pipe lol.

yea jus checked it, whats funny is that NTl told us I couldnt get Cable bb because "my street" hadnt been upgraded. However, the street over the road were able to get this "cable". Hence I went to adsl.

The exchange is right next to my house on the map, literally a street away. Its capable of having a 2Mbit feed Just waiting for central point to upgrade it tho which they said would be in july :S

But they are sticking me on their 1Mbit line until they do so all is good I hope.
