problems with edimax wireless pci card

    evening guys,

i got one of edimax's wireless cards for a friend's sons new pc - one of these http://www.scan.co.uk/products/edima...xpress-adapter not to expensive and rated for n speeds as they have virgin.

went round earlier and installed it fine and d/l the latest drivers and stuff and installed them no probs. rebooted and it found masses of networks no probs, the issue came when i found their network. found it and set up profile and saved it. but after that nada, it would connect for like a second - get full strength bars but as soon as it connected the edimax dropped and disconnected.

i tried everything form changing the encryption method and everything that the virgin hub would allow - even tried it with no security to check there wasn't a conflict but no. now not the signal as they have a laptop upstairs/downstairs which doesn't suffer any issues.

anyone else got any ideas before i beat a path to scan tomorrow? i think i might just go with the original plan and get an 'n' usb dongle.

and can anyone recommend a good 'n' usb dongle

TP-link is a good brand and you can pick one up from £8 from amazon
