It was my only feasible option too, I'd never have another provider now, excellent customer service.
I was on o2's exceedinglynarrowandnotevenfasterthanwritingaletter home access package;
That was a good day's reading.
I'm now with vfast. I paid a £99 installation fee and the service costs £24.99 a month for 15Mbps down/2Mbps up. My speeds regularly exceed this though.
I supplied my own cable router but they offered a fully configured router for £49 (correct as at 20 October 2009). They do a site survey first and wont install on any property where they cannot guarantee a minimum 2Mbps service.
It's pricey compared to all the stack 'em high, sell 'em cheap options out there, but when you have no alternative...

I'm currently with Talk Talk my line can handle speeds of up to 17mb download according to BT although I never get over 7mb download with Talk Talk which sucks! Upload is up to 1mb although again often much lower. I pay £4.99 a month the only perks of being a legacy customer from Tiscali UK. I would change in a heart beat if a faster service was available although looking at the prices you guys pay here I think I'll be sticking with Talk Talk a while longer!
Just wondering but why suddenly the need to get phone line, calls package and TV with your broadband supplier? What if I only want broadband and none of these extra "frills" sounds like a way to force you into signing up for more than you actually need.

Bumpola.
Anyone else ?
Society's to blame,
Or possibly Atari.
I originally went with NTL cos Tiscali couldn't get space in the exchange for my connection, which also told me if I did go ADSL it would be highly contended. Plus at the time I was in a flat, they wouldn't let me put a dish up, so no Sky that way. Seeing as you have to pay for a line rental to get broadband and telly, I lumped it all together. Then when I moved in with the wife, she had everything seperate, but the Sky kept borking, and she was out of contract, so it was a hasle to get them to repair, and the broadband kept dropping out, cos Tiscali were rubbish. So it was easier, and cheaper to go with a package from Virgin again. Plus cable is faster than ADSL in our area.
House 1 - O2 Unlimited (up to 20mb) £16/m plus BT line rental £15/m
Consistent 8Mb/s dl and 0.8Mb/s ul, this is the old O2 package which isn't throttled, also no congestion.
House A - Be* Unlimited (up to 24mb) £22/m plus BT line rental £15/m
Consistent 12Mb/s dl and 1Mb/s ul, unthrottled, no congestion.
