    Going ADSL: Nildram or Eclipse

    Hi guys
ADSL available as of 25th in my area.

I was going to go Nildram but I've heard bad things about them recently so was thinking about maybe going Eclipse 20:1.

    Anyone else worth thinking about?

    Cheeers

Im with Nildram have been for 3yrs, I've only ever had one issue around two years ago when there were login issues and speed problems due to only using 55mb pipes, once they went upto 155mb pipes everything fixed itself. I don't know who's having problems with Nildram, its always worth checking it out. But it's not all Nilly customers. Check out the forums at www.adslguide.org, if you have'nt already.

Don't know why you're thinking of 20:1 as you won't need it. I'm on Eclipse 50:1 and have never had anything less than the full speed

Zen are very good; some of my users are with them at home, and they're very switched-on, tech support-wise. That said, I have several sites on with Nildram and they're good also. Never had a problem with them.

I'm with Nildram bit pricey but good connection however IP changes a lot not sure if its the connection or my router would advise for a static IP. Good news server speed and no capped downloads. Tech support is also quite responsive to e-mails.

However would be interested to try eclipse, but wanadoo offer 1mb for £17.99 iirc

I liked them so much I bought the company...........

well became a reseller - must have about 50 accounts with them. They have yet to let me down.

    heres another example.

user manages to get a blaster type worm ( dodgy home PC )

Zen actually contact us notifying of the attack and that if we didnt take action they'd suspend the services.

nice to see an ISP finally being proactive against these worms !

    Thanks for the input guys.

I should have mentioned that the 2 things I'm looking for are ping (gaming obviously) and reliability.

They did buy out Nildram but as far as I know it's still not be confirmed as to whether they will be taking over the running side of the business.

I've been with nildram for over 2 years now they have been brilliant, and at the moment I would not even think of changing ISP's

That wanadoo service is capped at 2Gb a month, so if you're planning on actually using the internet, I should stay well away.
