    BTYahoo intermittent connection

    Hi

When downloading off of bit-torrent with BT yahoo i keep getting intermittently disconnected. There seems to be no pattern and a format and a new modem (from BT yahoo) hasn't solved the problem.

The modem/router they've provided is the BT Voyager 205.

(1mb service and im connecting via ethernet)

    I never disconnected on NTL

what do u guys thinks up?

DMZ + Static IP + NBSIZE 512 = No more problems with my Voyager 205
downloading from 20 sources on RevConnect at 115k/sec + browsing + Groove Salad radio

open your "run" command on PC and type the following "telnet 192.168.1.1"

You will be prompted with a viking telnet session. Login with the system username and password provided to you by BT.

To view the current configuration type "get nbsize"

Mine displayed a max ip session of 192. To increase this type the folowing

    "nbsize maxipsess 512" <press enter>

    then

"commit" <press enter> this saves the changes

    then

"reboot last" <press enter> this reboots the router. The change does not take effect until the router has been rebooted.

Check all the phone sockets have splitters on. Do you have sky box, if so does that connect to a phoneline?

ive fixed the problem now, bought a router from ebuyer and it works perfectly, the 205 modems are extremely bad, ive had 2 and neither work

buy a new router and thats the only thing i needed to do.
