Wireless connection

A friend of mine is having probs with a wireless internet connection. Unfortunatly i dont know any of the details as yet about make or card and hub or whatever. What i do know is that when she does connect the connection stops about 30 seconds l8r. She tells me that it says "excellent connection" all the time.

Could anyone give me some ideas on what it could be, and how to possibly sort it. I can only talk to her over the phone but any info could be helpfull

Is it a shared, public wifi connection like BT Openzone, or is she connecting to a router/gateway thing in her house?

Is it in a Uni where she has no access to the router itself?

Gonna need a few more details for this one.

its a shared connection with her house mates. Everyone elses connection works, but my friends doesnt just cuts out every 30 mins. c
