Nildram 2Mb

I used to use Nildram with a 1Mb connection, that was until I could get 2Mb with Bulldog for the same price of £29.99. Nildram sent me a letter offering me 2Mb for £17.99 per month with no contract and free migration. I would take it up if I wasn't emmigrating soon.

They are dropped all other speeds - everyone with a connection below 2meg will be upgraded (for free) to 2meg or the fastest their line can take. My dads connection is being upgraded next month.

I wish Bulldog would drop their prices or give me a speed increase. Actually, drop in prices would suffice, I rarely need 1mb/s!

Am paying £29.99 for 1mb adsl, yet they do 4mb adsl for less!

My nildram 2meg is lurrvley.

My router is now showing my downstream speed as 2Mb/s. However, speedtest on ADSLguide still shows me on 1 Mb/s and Nildram Control Panel still shows the product 'DSL 1000'. I haven't received an e-mail telling me that I have been upgraded to 2Mb.

So, does this mean that Nildram is throttling my bandwidth until BT tell them my line has been upgraded?

I came home last week to find my internet connection down, I rebooted my router and I was upgraded. Very happy if I'm honest! I wasn't expecting it for a few months and was planning on migrating to another ISP. Now that it's done though, I'm very happy and shall be sticking with Nildram for a while longer.

The bandwidth capping isn't THAT bad either. Only bandwidth counted during peak hours counts towards your 50GB limit, so if you like to download a lot you can always throttle your downloads (with NetLimiter for example) during the day and leave it on high speed at night. Plus, remaining bandwidth is carried over to the next month, so if there's a month where new game demos are in short supply, and you're followed by a month where hundreds are released.. you're fine!

I'm more happy with Nildram than I was, anyway.
