    Recommendations for a wired router for use with Blueyonder Broadband (Cable)

    Hello,

    Firstly I am aware there are likely to be numerous threads like this but using the search came up with nothing useful. Basically my previous router, a D-Link DI-604 has pretty much died about half a year after the 2 year warranty ended. So I'm looking for a replacement, it will be used with Blueyonder (Telewest) Broadband (Cable) so it requires a USB or Ethernet connection.

    Thing's I'd like:

    * Long warranty over 2 years if possible
    * Hassle free setup
    * Good tech support
    * Not too expensive, but I'm happy to pay for a quality product
    * Not D-Link

    With regards to the last point, although it lasted quite a while and was pretty I'd like to change make for the sake of it. I've been looking at Netgear (yes I know some people don't like them) but they have 24/7 support and a 3 year warranty.

    If someone could give me feedback on Netgear's warranty, on OcUK (here) it states "Limited 3 year warranty" on the Netgear RP614 Router (second from bottom. I have yet to find information on their site with regards to the warranty. Also feedback on the RP614 would be nice.

    I'd also be interested what other people with Blueyonder Broadband are using and how they are finding them.

    Thanks in advance,

    Regards,

    Mark

    I've had a Netgear RP114 for about three years now and have not had any trouble with it. I guess the 614's an update - it looks less manly than mine, though...

    I am currently using this with Blueyonder via ethernet - just plug-n-play.

    I guess it looks less manly due to their design change from the blue boxes to a more modern approach.

    Thanks for the feedback, anyone else?

    I'm using a High Speed (85Mbps) DLAN setup from www.devolo.co.uk

    But I also am using a Linksys 4 port wired cable router which cost me around 28quid plus delivery about 2wks ago from Novatech. I messed up a firmware update & got support to correct it over the web. Superb service & a good product for the price.
