OK i finally decided to go with nildram, the 8Meg ADSLMax package, with a 50Gig limit.
It should be up and running shortly will post back on how it goes. Cheers for the advice guys

If you move into a newly built house or flat that has never had a phone line before or if you want to add a second line where there was only one before, then BT charge £99 for installation.

That's on top of your £10 a month line rental. You can split the installation cost over the first year by paying in installments but they charge extra for this (I think it comes to around £120 for installation paying that way). This charge is often a blatant rip-off (e.g in new build flats the phone cable to your unit is already put there by the builders, all BT do is flick a switch to activate the line)..

But the builders don't put in the cable to the premises, the exchange equipment or set up the billing process!
