    Home Virtual private network (VPN)?

    Hi
One of my sons has recently left the nest along with his PC which was networked to the other PC's in my house for file sharing via a SMC Barracade router with Cable (telewest) modem.
Is there a way to continue as before but with his now remote PC connected to my home network via a VPN.
Anyone point me in the right direction as to if its possible econmically and what comonants I need.
    Thanks in advance

Why bother? The only point to this would be sharing files surely? You could do that just with software e.g. FTP client / server arrangement? Unless he wants to print stuff remotely at home...? You can easily setup a VPN anyway. You will need a router ideally at each end that supports its own VPN tunnels etc or VPN pass thru... Not sure about the SMC Barricade and if it will do this...
