best UK alternative to Paypal

ok then, basically i am looking to set up a small web store selling a some "products" (yes, i am being deliberatly vauge for the moment), now, i would like to accept credit/debit cards because we are no longer in the stone age. i really dont want to use paypal, but at the same time i dont want the hassle of setting up a merchant account, or to have to pay monthly fees, as i do not know if this will be a sucsess or not.

soo, basically, what are some good UK alternatives to paypal to accept money over the internet where you dont requre a merchant bank account or have to pay monthly fees (atleast, too high ones), i have been thinking about nochex, but would like to look at some other options and hear some opinions.
