Out of interest did anyone get told they were going to be a parent after giving up any hope of it and then find they struggled to comprehend it?

Well things weren't straight forward and we were talking about adopting, then decided to book a holiday to the States and Canada which of course meant things happened and we had to cancel!

Re: All the Dads Sign in :)

Well the wee man has arrived. Typical shipping these days, arrived poorly packaged, some kind of security tag still in place, and with the manual missing. Has anyone got a copy they can forward?

All the best to you all. I had a manual but apparently it needs to be updated each year. And when they get to 13+ just throw the manual away.

Does anyone know where/how to get extra 5ml syringes to fit calpol bottles? Our one is defective and won't fill beyond 3ml.

Buy another bottle? You will need another bottle at some point, it won't go to waste

Give them 2 doses? See how much it fills another spoon ?
I always think they're a bad design as if you need more than 1 dose you have to put it back into the bottle after being in your kids' mouth!

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Oral-Medici.../dp/B09R5X1PDQ

But also "apparently" boots keep the syringes behind the counter, not sure how accurate that is

Or they sell syringes like commercial ones for babies but they are pricey for what they are but obviously available same day

For under £3 you can get another bottle + syringe from pretty much anywhere

We have a silly number of syringes from Calpol & the ibuprofen equivalent kicking around, didn't think we did it that often!

    Quite.

    Calpol leaflet and website:
"a special spoon or syringe will be supplied with the liquid paracetamol product to ensure it is measured accurately. Do not use any other spoon or device to measure the product."

    Also Calpol website:
"we are not sending out individual syringes to consumers, as we do not produce any in addition to those put in the carton with CALPOL® Suspension bottles"

So when you ask what to do when the supplied syringe is defective their response is "buy another pack".

It's a marketing ploy to sell more. We've had three bottles now. Each syringe works for the first use then breaks after washing it. And no, we're not pulling them apart, just sucking up the water as advised, squirting it out and leaving it to dry. I don't think our water tank has added plastic disolvents, but maybe we should check.
