if your OCZ power supply fails..you put it in the box..send it to OCZ who once recieved will put a brand new one in a box...send it to you..and the jobs done.

You never have to deal with ocuk..who i have to say have always been friendly and useful in person or over the phone...dont know what all the fuss is about

Hardly reassuring though, when you can buy it from specialtech for the same price, and also receive excellent service if it does go wrong

Jeantech are just about the cheapest "brand name" PSU you can buy and are sold by PC World.

I wouldn't trust them TBH.

They are supposedly made by Sirtec if that's any extra help for you

Have you tried wiggling the psu connector when it's connected to the mobo, seen quite a few posts recently where the pins on the connector weren't quite making proper contact with the pins on the mobo which was causing a problem.

It may be pushing the boat out a bit but the PSU is so so important and if you skimp on it you always wish you hadnt.


Ayway...gt yourself over to Scan andlook for a 500W+ XCLIO Goodpower or Greatpower. They are around £50 and as long as you arent going Dual card with them they are extremely good for the price.

if you build alot of systems then invest in a psu tester something like the antec one (£10) that scan does will do or else get the lcd ones from maplin (Great little gadget will test all connectors off the psu and give readouts from all the rails too! £25) trust me they've been worth every penny.

I had this exact same problem about 2 months ago. I came to the conclusion it was my psu as it was only a cheapy so I went and spent £60 on a Tagan Easycon from Scan when they were on offer. When it arrived....same problem, turned out that my brand new Asus mobo was d.o.a and no matter what psu I plugged into it, the best I was going to get out of it was a brief fan spin, a couple of beeps and the asus splash screen before it turned off again.

I now use my cheap psu in a second system and it works perfectly well. Its a pain in the ass when things don't work, especially if you haven't got the spare components to try to isolate which one it is.

PSU just turned up at work. Ive noticed its alot more heaveyer then the hiper which to me shows it has alot more going on inside. Gonna try it as soon as im home

Even if it isn't the psu, at least you'll always know you've got a good foundation to build around now if you want to upgrade further, SLI etc. Plus, i've had lots or BSOD errors with cheap psu's in the past due to fluctuations on the 12v rails.
