    mobo/cpu combo

What is the best overclockable mobo and cpu combination?

Currently I have a P5W DH and E6300 oc'd to 2.8ghz on air, but ive got some money in the bank now (finally!) and was just wondering what your opinions were on the best setup around?

tbh what youve got is pretty good, the current P35 chipset boards seem to be the new overclocking kings such as the ASUS P5K deluxe. Probably coupled with a core 2 quad chip such as the Q6600 or xeon 3210 if u can find it. You will need some serious cooling though.
If you play games spend that money on a new graphics card, if not a new monitor would be worth the outlay.

Yeah gettin a new monitor was high on my shopping list as well!

I was just askin about the mobo/cpu thing as i heard good things about the P5B board. But if its not worth it then i'll stick with what i got - which i am happy with!

Its just a case of - 'ive got money now so what shall i spend it on?' Ive decided to go with a new monitor now so i shall be gettin rid of my 17" philips.

Now the question is what monitor to get as im clueless, what do you look for in a good monitor?? (by the way, does any moderator want to change the thread title?? a bit misleading now i guess)

Deffinatly stick with what you have for now.

Well first things first..is it for gaming?

Going any bigger than 17" and your current gfx card is going to struggle.

If its not for gaming what size would you prefer.

I'd go 20" widescreen or more.

    20" is 1680 x 1050
22" is 1680 x 1050 and you don't have to squint your eyes so much
    24" = 1920 x 1200 another squinter

I like the idea of rating monitors on their "squint factor"

    bigger the better staffsmike!

im not a avid gamer, only games i really play is football manager, texas hold'em and the like - not really graphic intensive. However, i do enjoy watchin my dvd films and stuff like that on the comp but i cant sit too far away other wise i have to really concentrate on the screen to see whats goin on!

i would like 22" as minimum, i came across this at scan:

the daewoo 22" is also pretty good - if not get a samsung 226 from play - much better price performance than the 24's
