The Asus utility reports motherboard temps of 40-45c. That seems high. Should I be worried?
Set the voltage here - DRAM voltage.

Yes, you should manually enter the timings, or itll default to the SPD.

See this post for info about your motherboard temps.

I have already explained it several times.

You can either, beleive me, and get on with it.

    Or

Dont beleive me, and pay for the testing fee on the RMA when there is no fault found.

    Easy really.

    Need Help!

Please help me stabilaze my comp!
I've overclocked Q6600 to 3,6Ghz (9x400)on air cooling. But Prime test crashes after 20 minutes.
    Motherboard: ASUS P5K Premium
    RAM: CORSAIR TWIN2X2048-6400C3DF 2GB(2x1GB) FSB:RAM = 1:1
    COOLLER: ZALMAN 9700LED
    Video: ASUS X1950XTX

Vcore is set to 1.5. On Prime test heats up to 63C. But in EVEREST ULTIMATE test goes higher then 70C.
If i reduce Vcore Prime runs crashes even earlear. Althou if i set fsb to 390, Prime runs more then an our with vcore set to 1.4. Can 100Mhz really bring such a huge unstability?
Or maby it's because of overheating?

What was the last stable overclock before this one?

And what temp does coretemp say you have under load?

    FSB = 390Mhz
Cores heat to 75C in CoreTemp

Right, well, its pretty certain that you are right on the limit of what your CPU will do without a lot of voltage, and its a pretty good overclock for air cooling.

Try coretemp, You might find that its around 15c higher than speedflange.

I quess 75 for cores is critical isn't it?
60C is a recommended temperature for CPU, not for cores, right?

umm i have had mine at 80c running 2x orthos for like 3 hours and its still fine, though i clocked it down.

max temps are debatable, i couldnt give a **** really, gives me an excuse to get another one if it goes wrong

Core temp shows 75C in cores Just like EVEREST Ultimate.
I've decided to run prime once again and it didn't crash for a 1.5hours.
So i continued with ram oc. I've plugged memory chips into black slots.
    Perfomance increesed quite noticably(1000Mhz; 4-4-4-12; Vdimm-2.3)..
    Black slots:
    Read 9231 MB/s
    Write 7271 MB/s
    Copy 7901 MB/s

    Yellow/Black slots (1channel)
    Read 7700 MB/s
    Write 7270 MB/s
    Copy 6605 MB/s

But under 100% load CPU temps rised up to 70-75C with the same vcore and fsb options.
I haven't tried yellow slots yet. But i'll let you know about the results.

And another thing. Corsair TWIN2048CL3DF goes with a fun. and if this fun is plugged into the MB
prime works less then a minute and system restarts. Without the fun - prime acts as usuall.
What do you think about that?

Yes, it is well documented (see the previous page, and the top of this page) that the yellow slots can cause errors when used with 2x1GB. Always use the black slots. It is fine to use the yellow slots if you are using 4x1GB.

Fun=fan? If so, always use it or your RAM will die pretty quickly, especially with 2.3v through it.

Have a read of my guides and the P5K thread, all this info is in there

Yes Fun=fan sorry for that. But why does CPU temps raise to 75C from 65C on black slots?

Aerocool ExtremEngine Extreme Engine 3T Case. I'm using this case. May be this 25cm fan will do better then Corsair fan? What may cause this reboots while running Prime when this fan is plugged in? May it's PSU? Fortron blue storm II 500W

No Idea why the temps would be different, I suspect it would be the ambient temps that are changing.

You need a fan that is fairly close to the RAM, expecially if it is higher voltage RAM.

Are you trying to connect the fan to the motherboard headers? If so, it might draw too much current, try it on the main loom, or get a fan controller.
