A couple of useful memory links

As some of the people here realise it's often not the brand of memory but the chips that are on the memory module that's the important thing.

And here's a couple of useful links listing the most brands and models of memory and what chips are on them.

Although I will add that some of the best brands hand pick and stress test indvidule chips for the best performance, However this only tends to be on there expensive "performance" models

A lot of the Crucial DDR2 Ballistic memory all looks the same to me. Why pay more for PC8500 Ballistic if "lesser" modules use the same chips?

Two reasons: the PCB and the chips being tested/guaranteed to work at the faster settings. Whether that's worth the extra is up to you, however you have to take into account the findings of the OC demi-god that is Clunk.
