I know i'll probably be feeling the hole for a while. It's one big hole, but i think a TJ07 can block it, when i see it in person.

At least you will enjoy it!! But please one word of advice- the upgrade bug can be very hard to fight off!! Only upgrade when you can see a very noticeable drop in performance and NOT for the sake of it. It can really cost you a lot of money in the long term!! I would say a 200% increase in performance is a minimum requirement for an upgrade!!

Re: New PC ordered, what ya think?

Yea, if Penryn is crazily better, and a decent price i might in a year or two but for now a Quad core that will be overclocked is more then enough for my needs, except when i run Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and a few other adobe programs together.
First upgrade will be to 4GB i reckon, but that's only if i need it. and i doubt i will really.

    Nice system Lucky b'stard
Let us know how much you manage to overclock it to!!!
Not sure if you'll get much out of a 4GB upgrade with 32bit windows, may want to get 64bit when you do that. - Anyone else got any thoughts on Vista 64-bit?

    I think:
    1. You have a huge amount of disposable income (lucky git)

    2. You have bought about the best there is and sticking a 32bit OS into it......why?

    3. Why not get a bigger monitor to get that GPU working hard.

Photoshop illustrator and flash all run together fine, without noticable drop in speed on my old machine which is only a p4. hell I can even run bryce and vue at the same time, so if you use that as an excuse to upgrade your processor, youll have to give me your old one for free!
    Deal?

Looks good to me, although the Vista 32 is a complete waste of money. If you have XP already, stick with that, and grab vista x64 later on when it is working properly.

I could do it on my Mobile Core Duo, but when i was working in them all with large files it proved to be a problem with the internet, itunes etc running. It wasn't the RAM it was the CPU it was constantly at 80%+

I have XP, but the disk is ruined and the other disk is lost. Oh well.
I will probably get 64 as it gets cleaned up, but until then 32 bit will do if i had gone with 4GB i would have gone 64bit though, that may be my next upgrade if i need it.

    I second that

Good luck with your new system - just make sure you have fun with it!
My only concern is should I hide my true identity? A costume maybe?

0iD: Plus weeing in it every now & again does it good
scaryjim: 10" is just a little large to hold comfortably in one hand, which makes it a lot harder to tap, swipe and generally interact with.

As long as you still have your license number, you can use any XP 32 disc.
