what is a UPS?
A UPS Is an Uninteruptable Power Supply. You can add to a PC to provide power in the event of your normal supply failing or dipping, only for a short time normally. They come in many varieties and costs, from a small shoe box size up to whole rooms of batteries to supply emergency power for whole buildings quickly. They may claim to stop damage in the event of spikes on the mains, may be true may not.
