well the motherboard is meant to recieve the keycode and pass it on to the application. it should work I just can't see why it isn't. check if there are bios updates that have a mention of something like this. also try many other keys when trying to boot the cd.

I had a similar experience with an old Compaq when the PS2 k/b connector died and I replaced it with a USB k/b.
I could get into the bios with the USB keyboard but no further. Once I enabled the BIOS setting, all was OK.

Never bothered to find out what was going on - it worked and that was all I cared about!

I do my flashes in Windows, so if it fails I just quickly download a new one or retry till it passes. DON'T restart the pc! Last time I was lucky my flash failed and I went and downloaded a new bios file and the 2nd one was successful. I don't know if you can do that in the DOS/CD/FLOPPY mode but if you can then do that also, but it might be a PITA.

Windows BIOS Flashes fail a LOT more often than DOS ones though. In fact I can't remember a DOS failure since the 486.

I used the Abit tool to flash my BIOS and all went well, not a single problem.

I changed my RAM timings and Voltage in the BIOS (4-4-4-12 and 2.10V)

The system boots fine but then after a few minutes of use, i get a blue screen and something about memory management.

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas that could help please.

Try running memtest on the memory, also try googling the error code from the blue screen to see if you can find a solution.

Memory management doesn't sound like a memory failure to me, more like a driver issue or windows corruption.

hmm if i leave the settings for the ram alone in the BIOS then everything is fine, as soon as i tinker with them it has a fit.

Tinker at all or change to 4-4-4-12 and 2.1v?

Try changing to 4-4-4-12 without changing the voltage, and then try it the other way. If the latter is OK but not the former then try changing one timing at a time.

I suspect that one (or more) of your sticks is not performing to spec.
