There is no jumper. Doesn't it auto switch to SATA II?
I got it new for £120, was still sealed

AHhh so the jumper is already removed? Odd... it's still running at SATA I though from the looks of those results!
ASUS ROG G751 w. 980M
I will investigate into it further then
Speeds are fine, SATA II doesn't necessarily mean you'll get 300mb.
Actual transfer rates are rarely anywhere close to the theoretical maximum rates quoted by manufactures.
Note, it’s not SATA II (2), there is no such thing… It’s SATA 300Gb/s.
Awesome. Thanks guys
I will put a jumper on, and see if that changes anything...
Oh and I forgot to mention, this is running through PCI-E 1x sata card
Maybe that could explain it
Thats all well and good, but SATA II is a universally known name and is quoted on all retailer and technology websites. Plus its a hell of a lot easer than writing SATA 150Gb/s and SATA 300Gb/s.
However, yes you are right we cannot and should not allow the use of SATA I and II anymore

What a funny shaped graph... here is my other drive:
So I reckon its my sata pci-e card which is holding this drive back...
