You should consider a Megaraid 300-8x over a 150-6. Since the 150-6 got a far slower/older processor, your raptors will saturate the 150-6 easily, even only with 4 disks.

P.S As far as the errant JCB, read into that, tractor, as our office is based on a farm and the owner has a very long waiting list of people eager to have a drive!
You could schedule an ftp transfer of sensitive files over the VPN to the old server, if you were using Linux I would have recommended running rsyncd on the new server and a cronjob on the old one..
Although I'm not into Windows networking so maybe there's a better (more efficent) way than ftp
