    P182 help

Hey the people of Hexus, i come with questions regarding the Antec P182

I am thinking of getting this case for my next build, i have read reviews but am after the views of someone who has bought it and actually uses it rather than testing it for benchmarks etc. Any pics of it would be much appreciated, as many as possible, love my pics I am hoping to run an overclocked CPU and maybe SLI 9800GTX in it with 3 HDDs, hopefully that will make things more relevant

    Cheers guys

    Re: P182 help

Only got the one pic right now but there are loads around

This is my silent(ish) PC.. All that has changed is the mobo power has gone around the back of the mobo tray and the passive graphics card has gone in.

It's really a fantastic case. Near silent as it comes, if you want really silent you need to get something like nexus fans and then it would be perfect. As standard though it is the faintest of whispers.

Hard drive noise with western digital AAKS is non existant, quite hard to get used to actually lol

You can fit 3 HDD's in the bottom cage so you could probably take the upper cage out, as these card are quite long you migh have to anyway. That does however leave a nice air gap between the cards an the option 120mm fan you can use to give them fresh air.

If they did fit without taking the cage out, you can put one fan either side of the upper HDD cage giving the cards a really nice breeze You can see from the pic where I have cabled tied the mobo power to the HDD cage, that is where you can fit a fan (it comes with brakets to do it).

It's certainly the best case I've ever bought, not the biggest inside but very well built and it works a treat with the scythe ninja which you can easily run passive in there.

    Re: P182 help

with 9800gtx you wont be able to use the top hdd caddy, but the bottom one fits 3 hard drives. (note you can keep the caddy in the case, its just the metal brackets overlap with the 9800gtx so they need to come out)
Its a really nice case, quiet, easy to keep neat and nice to work with my only gripe is i wish the power switch was not behind a door

Yes the true cooler will fit, and those fans are fine if not overpriced

    Re: P182 help

TRUE fits yeah, I wouldn't bother with it at it's price but each to their own.

Scythe slipstream fans are pretty nice for noise/air flow. Wouldn't bother with the noctua ones myself, can't remember them being all that great in reviews, might be wrong though.

You won't hear the stock fans above the 9800's anyway so I wouldnt bother changing them.

    Re: P182 help

would it be more reasonable to get a GPU heatsink then rather than those fans, if so what cooler and again will it incur any problems with blocking extra slots on the mobo etc. (i know the 9800 will take up two slot effectively as it is). What CPU cooler would you suggest over the TRUE then??

    Re: P182 help

the scythe ones if you are interested
    Scythe Kaze Jyuni 1200RPM Slipstream 120mm Fan |Specialtech.co.uk -

Yeah a GPU heatsink will help reduce the noise

I wouldn't get the TRUE due to the price. If you want a thermalright I would get the ultima 90. Similar to TRUE, cut down and performance very closely.

I would get what is pictured though, as I get it for all my builds now. It's a scythe ninja.
