And the 9600 better than the 8800?
Basically, what can your build do, compared to the one I made?

it wont play crysis @ high........ if you want that you need to double your budget...

but it will play things well on middleground settings (most things will be fine on high tho)

Would it play Fear, HL2, Portal, Warhammer, WoW, Oblivion, CoD4 on higher settings?

Never played oblivion but the rest of those will be fine for high settings. It does depend on what resolution your monitor is though. What size screen do you have?

It's a piece of **** atm, but I'm probably going to order an LCD monitor as well as the setup posted.

I think I'll get this monitor:

The 8800GT and 9600GT are both decent cards for that resolution As are the ATi HD3850 and HD3870 if you can find better deals on those in the states.

Re: Please help me build a computer.

I have Oblivion(love the game ) and I get 40-50FPS minimum while playing on the highest settings with 1680X1050 resolution. Maximum can get high in certain places but its the minimum that is important.

There is no real need for any higher frame rates than 40FPS, slower is a bit laggy and anything above is just as smooth as 40 so there is no real point to having higher frame rates tbh.

All the other games run better than oblivion so are are fine on those games as well
