need opinions on future gaming system build

Yeah, try to get a PSU other than a Hiper - Corsair ones do get good things said about them and never read of one of those failing accross a few forums.

Hipers are quite renouned for failing more often than other PSUs over the past couple of years, at first everyone raved about them but then people got problems.

Ive still got a Hiper 580w type r as a spare that was running in 24/7 PC for 2 years and it hasn't failed yet, I keep it as a spare.

thanks for your advice, ill get the cheaper corsair psu, so i dont have to worry about my psu failing (maybe taking something else with it!!)

its probably not the best value, or quality but ive got to a point when ive stopped caring about making a dream pc, and just want to get on with it

oh no, mobo has gone out of stock. Any suggestions for another one in a similar price range (£80 - £90) in case it isnt restocked before the ATI cards arrive?

ive been looking at p45 mobos, are they much better than p35

Not much better no.

PCIe 2.0 and 1600MHz FSB. Worth it for the same(ish) money but not worth spending too much on.

OCUK have an Asus board for £90ish.

Yeah that Coolermaster is a good unit, read some good reviews about it. Its just missed silver certification apparently which is pretty good. I would say its about the same quality as the Corsair tbh but if you want to save money Silverstone are also pretty good PSU's for slightly cheaper> http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=355398 That's the unit I've had for almost a year now and its been whisper quiet and a valiant performer as well. Its a good PSU

The Coolermaster ones are nice too, I've got one and it's great. Cables are braided which is one advantage it has over the Corsair and it remains quiet when in use

At £130-£140 expected launch price for the HD4850 and rumours of it beating the 9800GTX I'd say its value for money will be excellent.

Yup, if this is a gaming system the most important thing you can spend your money on is the graphics card and the market is changing radically at the moment. You will probably want an ATI 4850 or nvidia 9800GTX. Maybe if competition gets really intense you can afford something even faster
