    Re: Upgrading Video Card

As long as you have a PCIe 16x slot (and a decent PSU) then it should work of course you will be CPU limited in a lot of situations

Which of the 9800 series were you considering? Or are you still open to suggestions? What is the total budget you can spend?

Ok looks like you have a ECS C19-A SLI motherboard
    http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Pro...uID=44&LanID=0

Should be fully compatible with the 9800gt

looking at the current frys prices the evga 9800gt looks like the best value for money @ $129.99 after rebate

If the cooler is too noisy you may want to see about getting the Akimbo cooler from EVGA, I cannot remember the price of the cooler buy itself in the US (and they never sold it seperately in the UK )

evga website also check there forums for more info and details.
However it's $40 and not in stock (although they are very good coolers, but hard to get hold of)
EVGA are very good on there warranty and replaceing the cooler does not void it as long as
a- the card if it need to be returened is in it's original condition (ie the stock cooler is put back on)
b- no physical damage has been done in the process of swapping the coolers

But before you do any of than I'd get the card first and see what you think of the stock cooler
you may not feel the need to replace it.
