Re: Accumulation... does this happen to anyone else?

ive got a thing for pci and agp cards atm, never bothered selling off any of my old hardware. got a box full of nvidia gpus (back to the mx420), 20 different NIC cards, a box of old 56k and 28.8k modems (anyway of disposing of these easily??), and a box of usb 1.1 cards. and a random pIII cpu. then theres a box of ISA cards (yeuch)

    goes back a bit

Re: Accumulation... does this happen to anyone else?

Both myself and my housemate are serial PC horders

    I've got in my room alone I the following bits in their boxes after my recent upgrade ;

Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe - 1 damaged memory slot
    AMD Athlon X2 4200+ - Working
Arctic Freezer 64 Pro - needs a little clean
1 (2x512) Gb DDR (corsair xpert with LEDS )
1 (2x512) Gb DDR (corsair Pro with activity LEDS) - Okay
    2 (2x1Gb) Corsair DDR PC3200C2
    2 Seagate SATA150 80Gb HDD
    2 Maxtor 250Gb SATA HDD
Icybox media player - needs replacing
    4 Gb corsair survivor pendrive
2 Gb pendrive from Microsoft to play with readyboost
G-15 keyboard mark 1 (spare in case mine goes titsup.com)
Various Mice - Microsoft and Logitech are the flavour of the day here

Now... Downstairs I can recall seeing the following on the unit in the front

    1 x Abit NF7-S 2.0 with CPU( 2500+ I think ) and cooler attached
    1 other socket A mobo - think it's an epox or similar ( it's luminous green )
old PATA drive with data on which is a bit dodgy

Re: Accumulation... does this happen to anyone else?

If I can't get my old hardware sold in a reasonable amount of time I will just throw it out. Its more hassle than its worth to me... :<

Re: Accumulation... does this happen to anyone else?

My old hardware just goes straight into storage when it comes out of a rig coz i keep thinking i may need it again. i will need it if i throw it out though. You can never win =P

With the exception of those ISA cards perhaps . . .

"old PATA drive with data on which is a bit dodgy"

is that the drive thats dodgy or the data
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
